New Bedford High School girls suspended for fighting

The New Bedford school district said it has suspended two girls who got into a fight at New Bedford High School on Friday.

A statement from the school department said a teacher who tried to intervene fell to the ground. The teacher was not hurt.

It is the third reported incident of violent behavior at New Bedford High School in recent weeks.

A student is accused of throwing a metal trash can at a teacher, who was struck. And earlier, a boy was caught on camera throwing a chair at a teacher.
