New Bedford teen held on gun, drug charges

New Bedford police display drugs and guns seized during a raid on a Swift Street apartment.

A New Bedford teenager was ordered held without bail Tuesday on gun and drug possession charges.

Mason Teves, 19, was arrested Monday night after police executed a search warrant on his Swift Street apartment.

During the search, police said they discovered a .22-caliber Remington rifle, a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, and a .22-caliber Ruger revolver. All had their serial numbers removed.

Police also found 2 pounds of marijuana, 28 grams of heroin, and 16 grams of cocaine, along with 42 Percocet pills.

The drugs have a street value of more than $10,000.

Teves does not have a license to carry a firearm.
