NJ man pleads guilty to taking Portsmouth girl for sex
A New Jersey man admitted Friday that he traveled to Rhode Island to have sex with a 13-year-old girl whom he met on the Internet.
Daniel Berger, 28, pleaded guilty in federal court in Providence to a charge of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
Berger admitted he took the Portsmouth girl back to his home in Haskell, New Jersey, on July 24, 2013. The FBI found the girl at Berger's apartment about 16 hours after she was reported missing.
The girl's disappearance prompted an Amber Alert.
Berger's sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 9.
