No new sightings of rabid fox in East Greenwich

The hunt for a rabid fox in East Greenwich has been scaled back Saturday after no new sightings of the wild animal have been reported since Thursday.

East Greenwich Police tell NBC 10 that the last confirmed sighting of the rabid fox came on Thursday evening just after 5 p.m., and the last unconfirmed report came later that same evening.

Police are still advising residents to exercise caution and call into the police immediately if they see the animal. They are also keeping Frenchtown Park closed until further notice as a precaution.
