One person shot, one person stabbed in Bristol
BRISTOL, R.I. —
Rhode Island State Police are investigating an incident that took place at Colt State Park in Bristol on Sunday evening.
At approximately 5 p.m., an argument between two men at a Memorial Day cookout escalated into violence.
One man suffered stab wounds and was transported to St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River, then later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital.
A second man suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
The men were familiar with each other before the incident and both remain hospitalized.
Members of the State Police Detective Bureau and Uniform Division are currently investigating the incident with assistance from members of the Bristol and Portsmouth Police Departments as well as the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and Massachusetts State Police.?
