During the month of March "the orange blossom," from Edible Arrangements takes on a new meaning.
That's because the arrangements is tied into a fundraiser for the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis society.. "Having the orange blossom tied to MS society's official color, it's a winner all around," said Kathy Mechnig, president of the Rhode Island Chapter of the MS Society.
For the month of March, at all Edible Arrangements in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, $5 from every orange blossom goes to the Rhode Island Chapter of the MS Society.
Edible Arrangements franchise owner Ted Kostisin said he's happy to be on board.
"It's something I did as child, did MS walks and raised money, now to be able to give back as a business owner is wonderful"
"You can have the product delivered, or you can pick it up whenever you want this year, as long as you order in the month of March, the donation will go to MS," said Kostisin.
"It's a devastating disease that affects young adults, even some children unfortunately; it's a life long illness," added Mechnig.
Last year's effort raised ten thousand dollars for the cause.
They're hoping for similar success this year, that selling orange will raise a lot of "green" for vital programs and services.
