Pawtucket teacher cleared of child molestation charge

The state attorney general said Friday that there isn't enough evidence to support a second-degree child molestation charge against a substitute school teacher in Pawtucket.

Police arrested 22-year-old Warren Tassone in December. A female student at Slater Junior High claimed Tassone touched her inappropriately over her clothing, police said.

The attorney general said Tassone lifted the girl on his shoulder during horseplay and that his hand came in contact with her buttocks while she was moving. He immediately put her down when she complained.

The attorney general sent the case back to Pawtucket to decide whether to pursue a simple assault charge.
