'Peanuts' rendered in 3-D for new movie

Blue Sky Studios/20th Century Fox

The Peanuts are coming to the big screen next year, but not in a way you've ever seen them.

The comic strip characters will be rendered in 3-D CGI animation. A recently released teaser trailer shows Snoopy dancing around Good Ol' Charlie Brown.

The film will mark the 65th anniversary of the Charles Schulz comic strip, which ran from 1950 to 2000.

The Huffington Post reported that Schulz's son, Craig, is contributing to the "Peanuts" script.

The movie has a November 2015 release date.
