Person of interest in drive-by shooting surrenders

Cranston police said a person of interest in a drive-by shooting surrendered Thursday morning.

Police said 27-year-old General Jones of Providence turned himself in shortly after a news report that he was being sought.

Investigators said they believe Jones was driving a car from which shots were fired at another car Tuesday afternoon on Reservoir Avenue.

Police said Jones told them where to find the car, which was impounded.

At least one person was hurt, and a shell casing was found in a car dealership lot.

Police said no charges have been filed in the case.
