A single engine plane out for a practice flight had a rough landing Sunday morning in Mansfield when the student pilot came in too low on his approach.
According to the Mansfield Fire Department the plane made a hard landing and damaged it's landing gear in the process. The plane then veered to the right of the runway and ended up leaning on its side.
Members of the fire department were on standby in case of a fuel leak, but fortunately the need for them did not arise.
The pilot was unharmed and investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration arrived to investigate the incident.
