A Bristol man was one of two injured during a boating race Saturday afternoon in Missouri.
Michael Fiore, 42 of Bristol was flown by air to a local hospital following the Saturday afternoon incident and is listed in critical condition as of Sunday morning.
According to a police report obtained by NBC 10, Fiore and another man, Joel Begin, 47 of Quebec, were racing a 42-foot boat when they lost control of the catamaran. The police report cites wind interference which caused the vessel to go airborne, overturning twice while in the air and re-entering the water bow first, end-over-end.
A spokesperson for the Lake of the Ozarks was not immediately available for comment, but a Facebook post by the Lake of the Ozarks Committee stated "On behalf of the 2014 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout committee, We would like to share our thoughts and prayers with the families of Joel Begin and Michael Fiore. We have been to visit with both men and can report that Michael is still critical but is stabile. Joel is doing very well. Both men are in very good hands and being treated for their injuries."
NBC 10 will continue to follow the story as information becomes available.
