Human remains found burning barrel in Bridgewater
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. —
Authorities are working to see if the discoveries of apparent human remains in two separate locations in the Boston area are connected.
Police said what appear to be human remains were found at about 8 p.m. Wednesday burning inside a barrel in a wooded area of Bridgewater.
Firefighters and police who responded to the woods behind Bridgewater State Hospital found the barrel with its contents on fire.
What appeared to be burned human remains were also found Thursday in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood.
The locations are about 16 miles apart.
Both sets of remains were taken to the state medical examiner's office in an effort to determine their identities and causes of death.
Representatives for the respective district attorney's offices says investigators are trying to determine whether there's a link.
