Police: Driving school instructor sexually assaults woman during lesson
A driving school instructor sexually assaulted a young woman during her driving lesson, Providence police said.
Hector Ramirez, 65, an instructor with the Providence Driving School, faces charges of second-degree sexual assault.
Police said a 19-year-old Providence woman told them that Ramirez picked her up on Jan. 23 for her first driving lesson. Police said the woman said Ramirez offered her a red mint, and that she took it, but it made her feel dizzy and tired.
According to police, the woman told Ramirez that she was too sleepy to drive, so he told her to park the car. According to police, the woman was falling asleep in the driver's seat and that she could feel Ramirez fondle her.
According to the Providence Journal, police said they are waiting to see whether tests will show what the woman ingested that made her pass out.
Ramirez was arrested on a warrant and arraigned at District Court on Monday. He was released on bail and ordered not to have unsupervised contact with women under 20.
