Police ID man killed on I-95 in Providence
CRANSTON, R.I. —
Rhode Island State Police have released the name of the man who was killed while walking across Interstate 95 in Providence.
Police said 44-year-old Joseph Reynolds, of Providence, tried to cross the northbound lanes of I-95 near exit 25, close to the Pawtucket line. The man was struck and killed by a minivan.
No charges have been filed.
It was the third time in less than a week that a pedestrian has been struck and killed while walking on a Providence-area highway.
On Sunday, a 22-year-old man was struck and killed while walking on the Interstate 195 bridge between Providence and East Providence, and on Thursday a man was struck and killed on I-95 near Route 146.
