Arrest made in late-night stabbing in Pawtucket
PAWTUCKET, R.I. —
A man faces charges after police said he broke into an apartment in Pawtucket on Thursday night and stabbed his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend.
Richaud Wilhelm, 26, of Providence was scheduled to be arraigned on charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering and domestic assault.
Police were called to a home on 400 West Ave. at about 11 p.m. and found 24-year-old Tyrell Gadson with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.
Based on information from witnesses, police said Wilhelm broke into Gadson's apartment, who was living with Wilhelm's former girlfriend. After Wilhelm broke into the apartment, he assaulted the woman and began to attack Gadson.
Police said Wilhelm was captured Friday morning on Lonsdale Avenue.
