Fight between tenants may have led to Providence shooting
A man faces charges in connection with a shooting at an apartment house in Providence on Friday.
Police said 37-year-old Dennis Quinlan was charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of possession of a firearm while committing a crime of violence and one count of firing in a compact area. He is being held for the next session of court.
Police were called to 13 Whitney St. at about 6:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man shot in the leg. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries that police described as not life threatening.
Quinlan lives in the apartment house and apparently got into an argument with another resident.
