CRANSTON, R.I. —
Police have released the name of the man who was struck by a car early Sunday morning on Route 195.
Police said 22-year-old Carlos Rodriguez, of Florida, was a member of the Navy.
Rodriguez was struck and killed at about 4 a.m. on the Washington Bridge in East Providence.
"According to his friends, (Rodriguez) left a Providence nightclub after being separated from his friends. It was reported that the man was doing jumping jacks in the second lane of travel before he was struck and killed. His blood alcohol level was measured at .238 which is more than twice the legal limit if he had been operating a vehicle," said Col. Steven O'Donnell of the Rhode Island State Police.
