Fall River police are still investigating a crash that injured two people when their car fell 30 to 40 feet from an overpass onto a set of abandoned railroad tracks.

Fall River police on Friday released the names of the two victims injured in a crash when their car fell about 40 feet from an overpass onto a set of abandoned railroad tracks.

Police said 40-year-old Melissa Viveiros was driving a Mercedes-Benz south on Ponta Delgata Boulevard with passenger 41-year-old Marc Gula on Sunday night when the car mounted the curb and crashed through the guardrail on Ferry Street.

Several rescue vehicles responded to the accident. Both people were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

Gula was listed in fair condition.
