A man was ordered held without bail Monday in the killings of his parents, whose bodies were found in the family's rented North Providence home.
Mark Yu, 36, was arraigned in Kent County District Court on two counts of murder and two counts of failing to report a death.
Police found the bodies Sunday in the Noto Drive home when a relative asked them to check on the couple's well-being.
Prosecutors identified the victims as 60-year-old Young Yu and his wife, 61-year-old Yeon Yu. Authorities said both were found wrapped in sheets and cloths in different parts of the home.
Investigators said the victims were beaten to death, but they have not commented on a motive.
A prosecutor said Mark Yu was found in a locked bathroom.
Police said the suspect lived with his parents. Another son lives out of state.
Mark Yu is due back in court next week for another hearing.
