Swansea man charged with raping child
SWANSEA, Mass. —
A Swansea man has been arrested and charged with raping a child, police said Friday.
Tomas Paiva, 50, was arrested Thursday at his home.
He was charged with rape of a child with force, statutory rape of a child, and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under age 14.
Paiva was arraigned in Fall River District Court on Thursday and a judge set bail at $7,500.
No other details were released.
