Police: Woman embezzles $10K from Warwick Mall store
WARWICK, R.I. —
Police have arrested and charged a woman after they said she embezzled more than $10,000 from a convenience store in the Warwick Mall.
Police were alerted in late December by the owners of the Street Corner convenience store, after they discovered that more than $10,000 in cash was taken from lottery sales was missing from store deposits.
Detectives found that 49-year-old Deborah Farias of Cumberland, the former store manager, had transferred the funds to her account.
She surrendered to police on Wednesday.
