Diocese announces aid for flood victims

Rhode Islanders affected by the Labor Day flooding may qualify for financial assistance{}from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence.

Bishop Thomas Tobin announced $10,000 in emergency funds secured through the Diocesan Assistance Fund and through parish collections following the historic flooding of 2010.

The money can be used for immediate needs, including apartment security deposits, clothing and food.
