Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina Raimondo continues to enjoy a substantial fundraising lead in the race for governor.
The Democrat's campaign reported Friday that it raised about $486,000 in the last quarter of 2013 and has $2.5 million on hand.
In his first campaign finance report, newcomer Clay Pell reported that he had $1.1 million on hand thanks mostly to a more than $1 million loan he gave to his campaign.
Providence Mayor Angel Taveras reported earlier this week that he raised nearly $325,000 in the last quarter and has just over $1 million in his campaign account. Todd Giroux hasn't raised any money.
The Democrats will be sitting down next week to work out a deal to keep outside spending out of the race.
On the Republican side, Ken Block is leading in the fundraising race with $643,000 on hand, most of it his own money. Cranston Mayor Allan Fung raised $117,000 last quarter, almost as much as Block, and has $385,000 on hand.
Gov. Lincoln Chafee, a Democrat, is not seeking a second term.
