Report: Boy, 15, stabbed in Attleboro
ATTLEBORO, Mass. —
A 15-year-old boy stabbed Wednesday night was assaulted in a fight sparked by a prank by the suspect and his friends, according to the Sun Chronicle.
Police told the newspaper the boy was stabbed after a friend of the suspect, 19-year-old Shane Cory, threw two small crabs at the victim as the boy walked by Cory and his friends at Emory and Brook streets.
Cory was ordered held on $20,000 cash bail on Thursday after he pleaded not guilty in Atteboro District Court. He was charged with armed assault with intent to murder.
According to the newspaper, Cory was arrested in the basement of his apartment house where he was found by police hiding with a friend shortly after the stabbing.
Police said the victim was stabbed once in the stomach and in the back. Police said Cory and the victim don't know each other, but live in the same area.
