Report: Providence man killed Maine crash
A Providence man was killed Thursday in a single-car crash in Maine, police said.
Police told the Kennebec Journal that a car struck a utility pole on Unity Road in Thorndike at about 7:15 p.m. snapping the pole and killing 23-year-old Oscar Tizon-Brito.
Two others, Alvaro Soares, 27, of Unity, Maine, and his sister, Kelley Soares, 22, of Cranston, were taken by helicopter to a Bangor hospital. Police said Alvaro Soares was the driver.
Police said both speed and alcohol played a factor in the crash.
