Zimmerman acquittal stirs protest in Providence

A day after the controversial verdict was delivered in Florida exonerating George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin, residents from cities all over the country gathered to protest the decision.

"I'm here observing the injustice of the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin murder," says Art Toegemann of Providence.

Demonstrators armed with signs and chants gathered in front of Central High School in Providence for a peaceful rally. The protesters then took to the streets, marching several blocks until ending up back at Central High.

"If someone from a different race had killed a child, it may not have been the same," says Neil Perdomo of Providence.

The demonstrators say an injustice was done after Zimmerman's acquittal, and they want to join forces with the rest of the country to show they are upset.
