RI arts funding announced

Newly announced grants will help employ thousands of artists.

Rhode Island State Council on the Arts announced its first round of grant awards for the 2014-2015 season.

The awards are funded through an appropriation from the governor, the General Assembly, and through{}federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The council awarded nearly $750,000 to 126 non-profit organizations, schools and individuals for art and arts programming.
