RI boot company reaping benefits of snowy winter

The world headquarters for The Original Muck Boot Co. moved to North Smithfield when it was bought by Honeywell five years ago.

A global technology leader in energy efficiency, Honeywell has built a reputation on keeping people waterproof, warm, protected and safe.

The Original Muck Boot Co.'s boots do the same.

Sean O'Brien has headed up and expanded the line of original waterproof work horse boots to include womens and children's footwear too. All of the boots are 100 percent waterproof and comfortable.

"It's a full Neoprene booty that goes all the way around your foot. So not only do you have the rubber protection, but you have a full Neoprene under your foot that gives you a great fit and feel and extreme comfort," O'Brien said.

All of the footwear design and development is done here, with nearly 60 employees in all that make 100 different styles, who thrive on making sure your feet stay dry regardless of the weather.

"So if we get an early snow storm in the fall, even better. And the fact that it carries all the way through. The other thing we like is if we get a heavy snow pack, it smells. So after melting, it turns into the muddy season. So we get an even longer season. So we love this weather," O'Brien said.
