Rhode Island police say they're investigating whether alcohol played a role in the deaths of a woman and 3-year-old boy found in a car that had been idling for hours.
Police in Warwick say the woman, 39-year-old Kathleen Frink, had problems with alcohol in the past, and a witness smelled alcohol and vomit when she opened a car door and found the bodies. Authorities say it was very hot in the car and the windows were fogged up.
Frink and her son, Ryan, were found dead in the car at an apartment complex Saturday night. Preliminary autopsy results were inconclusive and investigators are waiting for toxicology test results.
Relatives told investigators that they last saw Frink Saturday morning when she left for a drive with her son.
