RI lawyer loses law license in DUI case
A Providence lawyer who specializes in drunken driving cases has had her law license suspended after pleading no contest to a DUI charge.
The Rhode Island Supreme Court suspended Layne Savage's law license for three months with the condition she continues alcohol counseling.
Savage pleaded guilty in May 2013 after she crashed her SUV into a parked car in East Providence. Authorities say Savage's blood alcohol content was five times the legal limit.
Savage was sentenced to probation, community service and her driver's license suspended.
