RI man arrested in Mass. killing

Rhode Island State Police said Monday that they have arrested a Lincoln man wanted in a killing two years ago in Massachusetts.

Willie Wilkerson, 27, was arrested Sunday at his Lonsdale Avenue apartment as fugitive. He was ordered held at the ACI pending formal arraignment Monday in Providence District Court.

The Norfolk County, Mass., District Attorney's Office had an arrest warrant charging Wilkerson with murder.

Wilkerson is accused of killing 23-year-old Kristopher Rosa. Police said Rosa was driving his car in Avon on Sept. 19, 2011, when multiple shots were fired into his car.

Another man, Rhandisyn Lawrence, was charged last year in the killing and pleaded not guilty. Wilkerson was previously charged in the case with procuring perjury and has pleaded not guilty.

In a news release, Rhode Island State Police Col. Steven O'Donnell called Wilkerson "a violent career criminal."
