Rhode Island State Police arrest 11 local men in a major child pornography operation.
Police say the 11 suspects face charges for allegedly possessing and transferring child pornography.
"In furtherance of this operation, court-authorized search warrants were executed at residences throughout the state. Numerous images and videos of child pornography were located on digital media as a result of the search warrants," said in a press release sent to NBC 10 News from Rhode Island State Police.
In that press release, the following suspects were named:
Daniel MacDuff, 19, Providence
Robert Greenwood, 40, Providence
Jason Martins, 30, East Providence
Michael McDonald, 66, Portsmouth
Eduardo Guzman, 19, Providence
William Morgan, 30, Marblehead, Mass.
Donald Moore, 65, Warwick
Scott Samford, 35, East Greenwich
William Simcock, 19, Richmond
Steven Mann, 25, Coventry and
Gregory Rickenbacher, 28, Providence
State police say the arrests are the result of an undercover investigation by members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
They were assisted by members of the United States Marshals Sex Offender Law Enforcement Multidisciplinary Network and the United States Secret Service.
