R.J. Heim is the Weekend Evening Meteorologist at NBC10, and is a Features/Environmental/Science Reporter 3 days per week.
R.J. joined the station on March 14, 1993, the day of the Blizzard of '93, which also happened to be his birthday. He worked as a weather anchor/reporter at WHP-TV in Harrisburg, PA, and as a weather anchor at WCIX-TV in Miami before coming to NBC10. There were also stints at Palmer Cablevision in Naples, FL, and WTVE-TV in Reading, PA. His career in broadcasting began in radio at 98YCR-FM / WHVR-AM in York-Hanover, PA "back in the day". R.J. has won two Emmy Awards for "Outstanding Weathercaster" in New England. He holds the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
R.J. was born in New York City, grew up in Phillipsburg, NJ, as well as Yardley and Gettysburg, PA. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Temple University in Philadelphia. He also studied meteorology at Millersville University in PA, as well as Portland State and Mississippi State.
R.J. is an active Screenwriter and Filmmaker, loves the beach, reading, music, long walks, fresh air, and the gym.
