Robber caught on camera assaulting clerk

Warren police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who may be connected to two robberies.

Surveillance video shows the man inside the Super Mart at 747 Main St. at about 12:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the man asked to change a bill. When the clerk opened the cash register, the man struck him with a wooden stick.

The man fled with some money. The clerk was treated for injuries to his face.

The robber was described as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt, a cap and blue fishing-style gloves.

A man wearing blue fishing-style gloves is also being sought in connection with a robbery May 8 at the Launder 'N Luxury Laundromat at 139 Main St.

A clerk said the man grabbed cash out of the cash register when she opened the drawer.
