Police: Suspect sought in two Warren robberies caught

North Kingstown police have arrested and charged a man in connection with two robberies in Warren.

Shane Lemont, 34, of North Kingstown, was charged with first-degree robbery. He was arraigned in District Court Monday.

Police said surveillance video showed 34-year-old Shane Lemont, of North Kingstown, inside the Super Mart at 747 Main St. at about 12:50 p.m. Wednesday. Police said the man asked to change a bill. When the clerk opened the cash register, Lemont struck him with a wooden stick.

Lamont fled with some money. The clerk was treated for injuries for his faces.

Police said Lamont was also charged in connection with the Launder 'N Luxury Laundromat at 139 Main St. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace on Sunday and transported to the Adult Correctional Institute in lieu of $10,000 surety bail.
