Scam targets Blue Cross Blue Shield customers

The Rhode Island Attorney General's Office has issued a warning about a scam that's circulating.

Officials say Blue Cross Blue Shield members have reported phone calls in which the caller requests personal{}and health information.

Blue Cross says it is not making those calls, and that they appear to be originating at a location in New York.

A spokesperson for the health insurer reiterated that Blue Cross does not ask for health or personal information over the phone.
