The second suspect that was wanted in a pair of robberies from Cranston and Coventry has been arrested.
NBC 10 has learned that a 16 year old boy was arrested in Springfield, Massachusetts on Friday by members of the Massachusetts State Police and the Rhode Island State Police.
The Rhode Island State Police are commending interagency collaboration for the apprehension of the juvenile suspect. The teen and 23 year old Monchi Castillo are accused of robbing the Shell gas station on Pontiac Avenue in Cranston, and an Xtra Mart on Tiogue Avenue in Coventry in the early morning hours of January 4th.
Police arrested Castillo a few hours after a multi agency search began for the two suspects, and hours later released images of the second suspect who was still at large.
According to police the suspects are also being investigated in other robberies across Southern New England.
Police tell NBC 10 that the 16 year old boy is he boy is being held without bail until a hearing in Massachusetts.
