Simon Shnapir finds new pairs partner
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. —
Two-time U.S. pairs champion and Olympian Simon Shnapir has a new partner, Dee Dee Leng.
Shnapir and his previous partner, Cranston's Marissa Castelli, split earlier this month. They helped the United States win a bronze medal in the team event and finished ninth in pairs at the Sochi Games.
But they struggled at worlds, then broke up.
Shnapir tried out several potential partners before deciding to team with Leng, who wound up seventh at this year's national championships with former partner Timothy LeDuc.
The couple will train in Boston under coach Bobby Martin.
