Southern New England's Most Wanted: Everette Eby

NBC 10 News is working with Rhode Island and Massachusetts state police to profile Southern New England's most wanted fugitives.

Police said Everette Eby sexually assaulted his girlfriend's 6-year-old daughter in Central Falls in 2009.

"He's a 27-year-old white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds, blond hair and green eyes," state police Lt. Todd Neill said.

Eby was last known to live in Rumford. Investigators said he's owned handguns and that he has been treated for depression and suicidal tendencies.

"Obviously, we'd like to bring Eby in because of the nature of the charges," Neill said.

State police said the victim's mother went to Central Falls police in March 2011 to report that Eby had allegedly sexually assaulted her daughter. Investigators also said the little girl didn't come forward with the accusations right away because they say Eby threatened to kill her mother if she did tell anyone.

"You don't want to see this happen to another little girl out there. He needs to be brought to justice," Neill said.

Investigators think Eby may be hiding in Virginia. And like the other fugitive cases, police are seeking the public's help.

"Any information they may have. It could be family, friends, acquaintances, email addresses, phone numbers, anything like that. What may seem small to them may be very important to us, to give us that piece of the puzzle that may lead to their capture," Neill said.
