State police have arrested and charged two people in separate incidents of driving drunk with children in their cars.
On Friday, police arrested 47-year-old Marvin Gutierrez, of Central Falls, on Route 4 in North Kingstown.
Police said a caller reported an erratic driver. Investigators said Gutierrez failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of .19, more than twice the legal limit.
Police said Gutierrez's 8-year-old grandson was riding in the front seat.
On Saturday, police arrested 34-year-old Carlos Rodriguez, not far from his home on Main Street in West Warwick.
Troopers said they saw Rodriguez driving erratically, that he failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of .15.
Police said Rodriguez's 13-year-old son was in the front seat.
Both men are expected to appear in court in the coming weeks.
