Spring certainly made an appearance Monday with a couple more mild days ahead. It was the mildest day since mid November with a high of 65 at TF Green Airport Monday. If the temperature exceeds 74 Tuesday, which is certainly possible, it will be our warmest day since mid October! A few rain showers are possible early Tuesday but as you can see from the graphic to the right it appears as though much of the rain will pass to our north. The wind direction will be off the land Tuesday...generally from the west so it is likely that many areas, including those near the coast, climb close to 70...possibly even beyond!
Wednesday will once again start out gloomy with a few showers passing through in the morning hours...these showers will pass to our east but I am not so sure about how much sunshine will develop Wednesday...it's possible that the sky features a bit more cloud cover which would hold the temps down a bit.
Thursday looks cooler as high pressure builds to our north, forcing a northeast wind to develop across the area. Temperature forecasting for Thursday is tricky since the strong April sunshine will compensate a bit for the cooler wind direction IF we get enough of it (sunshine that is)...so right now I am forecasting highs in the upper 40s to the lower to mid 50s. Steady rain will arrive Friday morning as low pressure moves to our northwest. Right now it looks like the rain will shift out for the weekend with seasonable temperatures Saturday & Sunday.
Of course with the return of the mild air comes the emergence of pollen and for all of you allergy sufferers this is NOT your favorite time of year...I will talk more about the pollen levels in the coming days.
