Strawberry Shortcake

Yield: 3- 6 inch cakes

Ingredients:

5 Tbsp. butter (room temperature)

3/4 Cup and 2 Tbsp. sugar

1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

2 eggs

1 1/2 cup. cake flower

2 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

2/3 Cup buttermilk

1 1/2 Cup heavy cream

Method of Preparation:

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (176 degrees Celsius)

2. Grease and line pans

3. Cream butter and 3/4 c sugar with vanilla extract

4. Add eggs (1 at a time) and scrape bowl

5. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt

6. Alternate adding dry and buttermilk in 2-3 additions

7. Bake for 20-25 minutes
