Suspect in man's killing to be returned to RI
FALL RIVER, Mass. —
The fourth suspect arrested in the killing of a Providence man was arraigned Thursday on a fugitive from justice charge in Fall River District Court.
William Lopes waived extradition and will be brought back to Rhode Island to face a felony assault charge in the stabbing death of 22-year-old Satchel Ramos.
Police said Ramos was killed March 2 when he tried to intervene in a fight between two groups of people on Federal Hill. Ramos's brother, Clyde, was also stabbed but survived.
Two Massachusetts men -- Eric Souza of Freetown and Justin Santerre of Fall River -- are charged with murder and conspiracy, and Lisa Fisher of Fall River is accused of failing to report a felony.
Souza and Fisher were freed on bail. Santerre is being held without bail.
