Swansea Police arrest minor on multiple charges following assault

Swansea Police have arrested a 17-year-old male on multiple charges following an assault that took place early Wednesday morning.

According to police, around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, police and rescue had responded to a call for a person stabbed. The victim told police he was driving when he was stopped by two masked men who demanded his wallet. A fight ensued and the victim's cell phone was stolen from the vehicle.

One of the suspects pulled a knife on the victim and slashed him several times before fleeing the scene. The victim was able to drive home and call police and rescue.

Swansea Police arrested the minor on charges of assault & battery with a dangerous weapon and armed robbery while masked. His name is being withheld since he is under 18. The juvenile will be arraigned Monday at Fall River Juvenile Court.
