Halloween is a favorite holiday for many.
Costumes, corn mazes, haunted houses, jack-o-lanterns and we can't forget CANDY!
I must say my sweet tooth is a beast. It is scarier than everything that goes bump in the night.
Have you ever noticed that at Halloween time, there seem to be a plethora of candy sizes? Bite size, mini size, fun size, even king size!
I frequent the fun size while trick-or-treating from my own candy bowl, because they are, well, fun. With such small packaging, companies just didn't have room for any nutritional information on mini-morsels of deliciousness.
But if you don't want those treats to haunt you later on, I suggest finding out what's really in those Whoppers, Junior Mints and Snickers.
Try out the My Fitness Pal app for Andorid and iOS. It's free.
This is an amazing app if you are trying to watch what you eat, lose weight or just prevent your teeth from falling out this Halloween.
It does a ton of stuff but we're sticking Halloween candy facts.
My Fitness Pal has over 3 million foods in its data base so you can find how many calories that Tootsie Pop or handful of Candy Corn have. Check out the nutritional difference between a Carmel and Candy Apples and how many grams of sugar that obscure Double Bubble has.
For more well known foods you can scan bar the codes.
There are tools for meal planning and you can track work outs. Keep the whole family in line with My Fitness Pal.
Hopefully all this candy information isn't too scary.
