Tech This Out: RI Travel Apps

If you are looking for a new place to eat or something fun to do check out these apps.

Rhode Island Monthly has a new web based app to guide you around Rhode Island and best of all its free.

Go to{} When you use the site on a mobile device its simple, sleek and easy to navigate.

The guide has links to over 400 places to eat. Even links to Twitter feeds. That way you can see what others have to say about the restaurant.

You can check out new places to shop, local attractions and see what events are going on around town. Santa's coming to Roger Williams Zoo, find out when and where through the app.

And who doesn't love a good discount. If you click on the piggy bank you'll find digital discounts for bars, food, museums, shops even mansion tours.

Next up is the popular Trip Advisor and they too, have a website and an app.

You can plan a vacation anywhere in the world or keep it local and check out things to do and places to eat locally. They have sections for best beaches, best hotels, best everything really.

They break it down into categories like landmarks and activities. Don't forget to read reviews by other travelers.

I like the Travel Inspiration section. Plug in what you're looking for on a vacation for example: History, family fun or romance. Then select where you want to go in the world. You'll get a list of recommendations based on surveys and reviews from travelers and the experts.

Have fun!
