Whaling City Festival to stay in New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. —
After threatening to leave, organizers say the 45th annual Whaling City Festival will stay in New Bedford this summer.
The city's park board approved an extra hour of operation for the event, which runs for three days in July.
Organizers will be allowed to remain open at Buttonwood Park until 9 p.m.
But they also had to meet several conditions, such as additional lighting, fencing, and a park wide clean-up.
