Thieves steal catalytic converters from Goodwill trucks
For the second time in three years, Goodwill trucks have had their catalytic converts stolen. In total, eight have been stolen from the trucks and most recently, the thieves even stole the entire van.
The most recent incident occurred Monday. Goodwill says while the thieves only receive about $50 for the metal, it has cost the company about $900.
The Goodwill Industries of Rhode Island has decided enough is enough and say they are taking action. The company has installed cameras and has come up with an idea to hopefully stop future thefts from happening.
They are looking into having shields created that will mount to the bottom of the cars which will cover the converters protecting them from being stolen.
