Three people were found dead in a Warwick home Saturday morning, the victims of an apparent double murder and suicide.
Warwick Police told NBC 10 they were called to 75 Kenway Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. for a reported break-in and shooting.
Police said the call was from a 12-year-old boy. Police arrived on the scene and located the three victims.
The caller said he and his brother awoke to loud noises and a commotion downstairs. The boys fled out a window to a roof dormer off the back of the house. One brother fled to a neighbor's house and told the neighbors what happened. The one boy apparently left the other brother on the roof where he was later found by responding officers.
Police said John Oliveira, 45, of West Warwick, entered the house and shot his ex-girlfriend, Carla Bowen, 47, of Warwick. Oliveira then shot Christopher Butler, 52, of Warwick, multiple times before turning the gun on himself, committing suicide.
Police also said the gun was recovered at the scene.
The investigation continues with Warwick Police and the Medical Examiner's Office.
