Three rescued from Portsmouth waters after boat sinks early Sunday morning

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Coast Guard tells NBC 10 three boaters were pulled from Portsmouth waters early Sunday morning. Emergency calls came in around 2:30 a.m. for a vessel in distress in Weaver Cove. Once the Coast Guard attempted to make contact with the boat through radio communication, they learned the boat was disabled. The 22-foot Bayliner began to take on water and started to sink once rescue crews arrived on-scene. The three individuals were brought to the Portsmouth Police Department and evaluated by emergency rescue crews. All three were released shortly after with no serious injuries.
